18 Dec 09 - There is a saying that goes something like: "Girls are made of sweets and sugar and all the nice things, while boys are made of mud and sticks and yucky stuff." Can't remember the exact phrase but you know what I mean. Anyway that image of girls that I've always had in me is shattered.

There is this person at my current work place whom I talk to quite a bit with, and originally I thought that she was a nice and sweet girl. I just found out that at the work Xmas party that I attended today, that she smokes. Horror and shock. The thing is this just reminded me of my ex LTR, I realized that she smokes as well. It just surprises me so much that someone whom I thought was pretty nice sweet girl, ended up smoking and drinking like a party animal. Somehow just makes me feel that girls have two sides to them, and you cannot really tell how they're like.

Maybe this is the reason why I'm pissed off with my ex LTR, because all the while in front of me she is so sweet and nice, but I didn't realize that she smokes!!. Makes me feel like she has been lying to me all the while. I feel a bit cheated. Maybe she just wants me to marry her, so that's why she has been acting "nice". I'm glad I didn't marry her, because I did consider that at some point. But after I decided not to marry her, and she started showing her party animal ways, I'm glad I didn't marry my ex LTR. Are girls really so weak minded that they would do something that literally harms their body?

Which makes me think back about something which I heard before, maybe Mystery mentioned this, that a girl will be sweet and nice to the provider, but will still have cheat on the husband and have sex with a lover.

Anyways, my pristine image of girls has been shattered, I still have my hopes out there though, that there will be a perfect girl for me. I have always had this image that some girls were nice and sweet, but it is just so shocking to me that for someone whom I had that impression can turn around and be someone totally different. Maybe I've still got a lot to learn, about girls.

Not to say that all girls are like that, maybe some of them are as what I think they are. This just makes me all the more determined to find out how girls are actually are. Are girls mostly just stimulus response creatures? Getting carried away by the atmosphere of the club and starts to let loose and smoke and drink? Are guys also stimulus response creatures too?

Field report after 2 years of non PU

1st Dec 09 - I haven't approached in a long time. A long long time. About 2 years in fact, and today I did a direct opener. I noticed a really hot chick, hot pants, well tanned, body, cute face everything.. A girl that gives me the feeling of "Yes! I want her!"

As embarrassing as it is to post the blowouts, I'll do it regardless.

Me (opener): Hi, I'm XXX, nice to meet you. I just thought you look pretty cute and I had to come and meet you. Because, you might be a scary person right?

Her: (Looks flattered) I have a boyfriend.

Me: Do you want another one? (tried to say this in a joking manner, but obviously didn't go through that well)

Her: (Looks creeped out now) No.. (and walks off)

I felt really euphoric after doing this approach, like even though it didn't go as well I would've liked, but I did it! and she's one of those girls where I knew I'd never approach back in the days before I started doing all this. Too much butterflies in the stomach. But even now, I still feel the butterflies, but it is different now. Different in the sense that I knew the butterflies were actually excitement. I'm actually excited at the thought of meeting this girl and anticipating what might happen, and I knew that I'd actually feel worst off if I had let that opportunity pass by and not approach.

So, why have I started approaching after so long of not doing anything?

Basically just broke up from a LTR.

Also..

I think, I'm still on a journey to grow and become more and as cheesy as it may sound, to find out what love is all about.

Some quick tips from Craig from a DYD video.

1) Use the word maybe : "Maybe" I'll talk to you later.
2) Sit down with them and say, Sorry I'm late guys, traffic was bad blah blah, did you already get drinks without me? What did you get for me?
3) Name game - Make up stuff for each letter of her name

Another thing he did mention in the video is about how normal conversation is very bad for attraction, so don't be afraid to just stop the conversation at that point, and switch to something else. He also talks about how the art of talking about nothing, but making it very interesting and funny is good for attraction.

Monday and Tuesday

Monday.. opened up with the whether you can be a toothpaste model, On retrospect, I should have been more assertive with this opener. I have to put it in a way that I say she could be one. Not ask her whether she is one or whether she would like to be one.

Tuesday.. opened 3 girls :D First one in the coffee shop, I plowed through and made fun of her being a regular and knowing all the staff at the coffee shop and hi-fiving everyone when she walks in. (I should have gotten her number too!!)

Next one at the traffic lights, but soon parted ways.. I plowed through as well.

Third one in the gym, she was on the exercise bicycle, but didn't manage to stay long as I guess she's still exercising.

Things I learned

1) I think I understand PLOWING much better now. It is not really stacking openers as what RSD seems to suggest. For me, my understanding is more like rolling with your opener long enough so that you can throw in some jokes and make her laugh and to by pass that few seconds when you initially open someone where they look at you stunned wondering why you're talking to them. I notice that when you make them laugh, instantly you're IN. And you can talk to them and they'll talk to you normally and you can continue on with the good vibe there.

Saturday 14th - another great night out

Today went to Brunswick instead of the usual city.

Went to a few laid back places and sarged there........ and then went into a high energy place (bimbos) and had some fun there too.

One bit realization from going out to these places is that people who go to laid back places, want to talk. While people who go to high energy places are less inclined to want to talk and they want to dance.

What made me realize this was that at Bimbos, there were these couple of girls at the dance floor. and went I started to talk to them, I notice the girl's mind was sort of wandering off and not paying attention. So I taught her the Melbourne handshake and she was really into that. However when I started talking again, then she started to look bored again.

Then.. there was this two set with an asian girl in it, and I previously talked to the girl at the bar, but she sort of brushed me off giving me the look. Later on I approached them again, but walking next to the girl who gave me the look and elbowed her gently. I turned and looked and she was all smiles and opened up. However I blew it for that one.

The other sets I did was pretty normal, I opened a set at Polly's who turned out to be working there and she seems quite well travelled as well. We talked for quite a fair bit, and I found out lots about her. We really did seem like we had a connection. However I felt like there wasn't really much of a sexual connection, no flirting going on etc.. so I left. So now I'm wondering how do I actually get the flirting going when we have so much connection going on??

Lessons learned

1) In high energy places people wanna talk less, so BL is more important. also fun little kino games are good to play here as well, handshake games, handshake and then the twirl, thumbwars? Go and find out about other things which you can do here. And I think dance is also very important to do here as well.

2) How to amp up flirting when you are having a good vibe going on..? How to turn it sexual and kino more?

Friday the 13th.. very fun

Today went out with my wing, and met up with a couple of lair guys and tried to get into CQbar.

We first hung out at young and jacksons though, and I opened up this group who happen to be travelling. So I had a lot of fun talking to her finding out about what she's doing etc.. and she's very chatty.

Next, we tried to get into CQbar, but was knocked back because we didn't have any girls on us, so we went on to LalaLand.

Here I approached another set. Used an opinion opener, was pretty good, and there was this drunk girl as well, and my wing opened her.

Next went to GPO, and then opened 3 sets here. First one was a bunch of Italians. Here one of the guys asked me: So you're out looking for some ladies?

And I said.. Yeah, well I'm out being social, talking to people, and practicing my social skills. That guy laughed a little and said "Oh practicing your social skills" that's cute.. haha, I think that's a good answer when I next get that.

Then I moved on because it was obvious I wasn't going anywhere with that group, and I opened two asian girls by the bar. Used a direct opener like "Hey I saw you from over there and thought you were pretty cute, so I thought I'd come and talk to you" So I stayed as long as I could until they said that they have to go look for their friends, so I said talk to you later.

Next I opened an asian girl sitting by the table waiting for something. so I opened with "Hey I was a bit bored and you looked pretty bored too, so I thought I'come and talk to you."

Her: "Oh yeah, I'm just waiting for some friends"
Me: Damn those friends, how can they make people wait like that (in a funny tone and I noticed that she laughed a little and I knew I was in so I sat down in the chair next to her and started talking)

The interesting thing was that midway, this guy came up to the table and sat down too, obviously trying to cock block me, and was being a bit rude eventhough I was being friendly. Anyway, good experience of being AMOGed. I think I could have gotten this girl's number too though.

Next I opened a girl by the bar ordering drinks. Turned out she's like one of the owners of GPO or something like that. Opened up with "Hey, girls have this thing called a GAYDAR right?" Then I pointed out two people to her and asked her what she thought. That went pretty well, that we talked for a little bit, then she asked me my name and I found out hers.

Another interesting thing that happened tonight was that one of my wing's set which went out for hours. I joined him later on in his set, and we continued talking for another hour or so. Which thinking back, was really too long, should really have grabbed the number while we can. But they were really friendly and nice to talk to, so had lots of fun.

Lessons learned.

1) I'm starting to think that there are some girls which are naturally more attracted to me, while other girls are not. The girls which I get most responses out of are the ones which are smaller than I am, and asian. I'm beginning to wonder whether it is because these type of girls are naturally more attracted to me because of physically I'm bigger than them or something else, but oh well.. this is just an observation from me at this point.

2) Keeping a positive vibe, eventhough I'm chilling alone at the bar. Another thing I did was to practice standing up positively and thinking positive thoughts and sending out positive signals to everyone. I notice that I feel more positive and therefore my Body language seems more positive as well. I think that is much better than thinking about things I did wrong etc.. and getting into my head.

3) Should go for the Number close.. Don't hesitate.. just DO IT.

4) How to transition from vibing very nicely to a more physical thing? Should go and read the physical escalation thing from de carlo or something like that.

July 7 - Beach club Docklands

I think I did about 5 approaches tonight. I don't think I did very well tonight, but hey I sure did try to get out of my comfort zone.

Some highlights of the sets I did:

Highlight 1
-----------
Did the handshake and spinning the girls a few times, just testing it out, and I realize that all the girls will spin when you raise their hands up. Tried to do the thumbwars but then got ball busted by this girl but couldn't bust her balls back.

Highlight 2
-----------
Was using opinion openers on a two set, and they started laughing, because earlier on my friend used the same opener on them. I tried to follow up with it, and then my wing came by and started using another opinion opener on them. Instantly I can tell that they started to lose interest. Sure was pretty funny.

Highlight 3
-----------
I was sitting down and one girl sat on the back of the couch that I was sitting. I should have just leaned back on her right away, without asking for permission.

Newbie night - Friday 6th July 2007

Finally I got accepted as a full member in the Melbourne Lair.

All I had to do was to do 3 approaches, and that was pretty easy..

First set was a group set, next one was 2 girls in the street, and 3rd set was a group of Japanese and korean girls.

I also did 2 sets which I won't count, trying to stop people on the streets, but didn't manage to stop them.

At the end of the day, we had a long conversation with hypnostu, and some other lair members and I've learned heaps, especially from hypnostu. (thanks dude)

Lessons learned
1) Pay attention, pay very close attention to what the girl is saying not just with her words but what she's saying with her body. Be very attentive.
2) Always stay in the set until you get blown out. Don't blow out on your own, see how long and how far you can push the set until you get blown out.
3) iceman -> being very social and vibe with people.

After tonight, I decided to write a list of things which I have to work out. Sort of the collection of skill sets to ensure a successful pickup.
1) Improvisation

3) Noticing people, being attentive, observant

okay, Friday and Saturday was a bit of a mix results but here goes:

Friday - today I decided to test out the differences between natural game and canned game. Firstly what I have begun to notice was that my canned opener is failing to work, and I think it is most likely because of the way I'm coming across, so that's why I've been testing out natural opener like "How's it going?" and "are you guys having fun tonight?" Interestingly both these openers dont' get me anywhere too! But then I manage to learn more in the sense about what girls are thinking whenever guys approach them in the bars and clubs which is "This guy just wants to sleep with me" Today all in all I did about 6 approaches.

Saturday - today I think I did about 4 approaches only. Had the chance to meet up with Greg another PUA and did some interesting approaches together. His style is very casual and laid back, and most girls just open up to talk to him. What I learn from Greg is that you have to respect the girl's space, and to really approach in a non threatening way, not like you're trying to force yourself in, but naturally and calmly like you would approach a cat.

Thursday gym - Today I did 2 approaches. The one at the gym was the best because I could feel the sexual tension building and her attraction towards me, although I failed to # close her. I'm still puzzled why I failed to # close her. Anyway, I saw her lifting barbells which were only 2 kgs, so I said to her.. I think you can do more you know and teased her about having muscles. What I think I did right was that, firstly there was eye contact and a smile, then I waited for her to finish her set before talking to her briefly, teased her a little and then walked off. Later while I was doing my situps, she came to the same spot, chose to sit next to my exercise mat and did her situps. I continued chatting with her, and she restarted the convo with me a few times, and did ask me some questions about myself, so I was pretty sure that it was ON, but then don't know why she left after I had the chance to # close. Oh well.... the main thing was that I learned something important which is:

1) Smile, and project positive vibe around you
2) Eye contact then smile then approach is very powerful
3) Project happy vibe.. always project a happy cheerful vibe and girls will open up to talk to you.

Total: 12 approaches.

Cold duck feet and argentinian food scientist

Did two GOTD approaches today, first one was just a strange one, for me to test out new stuff.. Asking the girl whether she thought the ducks at Albert park feel cold in winter or not

Next one was outside the library, where she went out for a ciggie, so I walked up and had a nice convo with her. Found out she was from argentina, what she was studying, joked around a little bit. Said that I did creative dance as my uni degree, which made her eyes light up, (I think I should change it to exotic dancing, to be more obvious that I was joking)

Anyway, was good fun, and I should do this more!!!!

Fri + Sat night out

Friday night

I hung out with my wing, in the St Kilda areas and did 5 approaches tonight. It was a pretty slow night as it was quite cold and foggy out, but yeah I have learned a fair bit tonight as well.

I did 3 approaches at Metropol and 2 approaches at Traffik. The main lesson that I learn was that opinion openers don't work that well anymore.. and I'm starting to wonder why, I used the same opener, and for these past two days they don't work very well at all, I wonder if I'm starting to give off a creepy pickup vibe.

Anyway, the first approach I did at Metropol went like this:

ME: opener....
Her: Why don't you go ask those guys over there?

Translation: It is so obvious that you are asking us this because you want to pickup, and so go talk to someone else.

I got a similar vibe from others as well, once more in Traffik.
Although I did come face to face with a girl with the persona in Traffik, had to deal with a lot of tests.... I ejected after a while though, because it wasn't going into a fun direction.

Lessons to be learned here are:
1) What sort of vibe are you giving off? The cool guy vibe that is having fun and enjoying himself or the creepy pickup guy vibe?
2) You have to feel comfortable in the club to give off the confident vibe, if not people can pick up on it.

Saturday night

Today's another big night out with the melb lair guys. And I learned a lot as well today. First big thing that I learned was watching the guys who are really good. I noticed that they give off a very confident vibe, and wasn't running around the club so-called "working" the club.

My fav Brad Pitt opener didn't work well again today. What did work was opening with statements. The two statements that I tried was something like:

"Hey guys, it is illegal to be talking among yourself in the club, / waiting for something to happen / etc...."

"Hey I thought I'd be social and come talk to you guys.."

Big lessons that I learn today:
1) Girls are always thinking that all the guys are coming up to talk to them because they want a piece of their ass.
2) The context between day time and night time has changed, so that is why opinion openers work well during the day time. During the day time, girls primary question are: "Why is this guy talking to me?" So if you ask an opinion, then it justifies that. During the night though, they have the perception that: "All guys coming to talk to me asking me weird questions because they just want a piece of my ass." So this really makes me wonder whether my opinion openers don't work anymore because of the vibe I'm throwing off or whether it is because it just plainly does not work in the club because of the context.
3) Opening with statements are more effective in the club, and being the normal social fun guy is more effective. Giving off a cool fun vibe is more effective.

So tonight, I did another 5 approaches, and I think I have my first DHV story. What happened during one of my approaches was this: I was having a slow night, and building up my momentum, when I noticed these two girls sitting alone, not talking to each other. So I went up to them and said "Hey I thought I'd be social and come and talk to you guys" When I did that immediately to the far left, a bunch of guys starting laughing... I instantly knew that I have fallen into a trap that they were playing, seeing how many people would walk up and talk to their female friends.. So I ignored that, chatted with the girls for a while, wished them a fun night and walked away. Later that night, this guy ushered me, walked up to me and asked me to rejoin their group saying: Hey we LIKE you man!, Come and join us,.. So I joined them and it was really funny, I found out where they're from, etc...

And I got a number close tonight as well!!! Met this girl, she was really friendly, none of that persona that others have put up, so I was wondering whether it is because this person is friendly which I think is the case, or whether my approach with the others is wrong or is a combination of both. YEAH.. and the number was solid as well! What I think I did right, after getting the number, I talked to her for a bit, showed her the lying game. I did kino, but doing the handshakes, and vibed with her, found out about her etc.. gave her a reason for me to take the phone number, said how rare it is for me to meet someone that I can really connect with.

Summary
---------
So now I'm wondering what sort of approach should I be taking.. I really feel like I should be focusing on having a fun time at the club, and not caring whether I do my 5 approaches or not.. eventhough I have to keep it at the back of my mind to do so. Rule of thumb:

1) 3 second rule, just approach, keep approaching to build momentum and get into the talkative social vibe.
2) Don't worry about not having things to say, there will be plenty of things to say.
3) Opinion openers..... scrap it???

Not just cyclists wear tights

Today's GOTD, at the gym, saw this girl working out wearing tights, and I just so happened to be filling up my water at the water cooler. At the exact point in time she puts down her dumbells for a short break, I immediately opened with..

Me: Hey, you must be a cyclist right?
Her: (laughs) No, I'm not, why do you say that?
Me: Oh because I know a lot of cyclists usually wear tights, and you're wearing one.
Her: (laughs) No, it's because it is cold outside..

It was a short interaction, but I made a girl SMILE! which is the whole point :D

Friday night

Met up with a PUA from one of the forums, bounced around from bar to bar, and in total did about 7 approaches.

1st approach -> mixed girl half malaysian so got pretty good connection with her.
One lesson that I think I learnt here is about doing the "YES, and...." not the "No but..." This came up because I was chatting with her friend for a bit, and they mentioned that they were going to Metro. So what I did was I asked him, so you like the Techno music there or the RNB, and he lighted up when I said Techno, and so he asked me whether I liked Techno too, but I said No.. and I can see him a bit disappointed with that. So the lesson of the day is.... just go "Yes and...." to continue the conversation

Can't really remember all the approaches I did, because they didn't really go too far. But the few lessons I realized were:

1) At one point I asked the bartender which places would be good to go around here. She said "I wouldn't have a clue" eventhough I'm pretty sure she would. But then in hindsight I realized that it would be a bit out of place to ask a bartender that question
2) Another interesting one was when I opened a girl, and a guy instantly went up to talk to me. Found out that they were with a whole bunch of friends surrounding me like about 20 of them, and all of them had their attention on me talking to my target which made the girl uncomfortable. Anyway, got out of that situation, I wonder how would one handle that situation.
3) Another one I opened a two set outside guys toilet. It went like this:

Me: Hey just wondering why are you guys hanging outside the guys toilet?
Her: Why do you ask?
Me: Just curious.

It didn't go too well after that. In hindsight I think I should have said something stronger like:
"Hey why are you guys perving outside the guys toilet?"
Or gave a better reply like:
"Well, I'm concerned of my own safety"

Saturday Day Game

Another fruitful day, met up with melb lair guys, kwiksilva, blackout, chau, manic, lots of other dudes. Did about 7 sets maybe more and # closed one girl :D

Anyway, day game is fun as usual, without all the distractions of loud music.
Some of the openers I used are:

1) shopping for shoes, pointed ones or the tapered ones, because pointed ones show the direction a man is going to therefore perceived to be more masculine
2) magazines men and womens magazines have pictures of beautiful girls in them
3) Hey you're pretty cute, so I decided to come and talk to you.
4) Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom
5) Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston

One important thing I learned, (thanks to Blackout) was about number closing. You have to give a reason to number close, either in the conversation you plan something ahead in time, or qualify her to you so that the number close becomes legitimate.

In the case of the jap girl that I number closed, I told her how easy it was to talk to her, plus we had wide rapport, talking about quite a fair bit of things, and also told her how she should go shoe shopping with me one day.

Fri + Sat total 14 approaches. Thurs + Sun didn't do any.. dammit, don't be a lazy ass..!

Why do you ask?

Today's GOTD, was just something I wanted to get over with so that I could go home and watch some DYD videos. Anyway, I think I should always keep up the enthusiasm to talk to girls, but apparently my enthusiasm did show through as after I asked the Brad Pitt question, she asked me.. Why do you ask?

I told her it was for my own personal amusement and she laughed. But I also thought that Herbal's reply to that was pretty okay as well, "Dammit, Because these things matter!"

DYD teaches: Single/Not or Happy/Not

One of the things I learnt from watching David D's Mastery Series is something he says about quickly identifying whether a woman is:

A) Single and Happy
B) Single and Unhappy
C) Not Single and Happy
D) Not Single and Unhappy

I think it is a good skill to just quickly pick out where this girl is at so that you know where you can take things with her. To cultivate this skill, David also talks about asking the girl later, after you've tried guessing her situation.

Just a quick update to my blog, about today's GOTD, I decided to name my title's with more interesting subjects. Anyway, today I had trouble finding chicks to talk to. So just walked up to a group of women and since there was this theatrical thing going on, asked them what it was about, turns out the woman I was talking to has kids who's doing the children's play at that time. hehe..

Anyway, same deal, good posture, body language and voice tone today which opened up the set and made them receptive of me.

Fri + Sat Sarge nites + Sun and Mon GOTD

This might be a pretty long post so get ready...

Friday night was sarging with 2 PUAs from the Sarge forum. Great guys, and another great night out. I did a total of about 6 to 7 approaches, I'll count it as 6 to be safe. What I learnt from this night out is being comfortable and treating the club as if you OWN the place. If you treat it like you OWN the club and that you want to make sure that everyone in it is having a good time, then you give off a vibe that you're comfortable of where you're at. This is good as it reflects in the way you walk, your smile, and the way you dance.

Places we went were OnderGrounds, Velour, 6 links, The Joint

Saturday nite, met up with another guy who did a ModernMan course. Another great night out, I did a total of 7 approaches, and most of the girls were very receptive of me, and I manage to cut through an asian girl who was really giving a lot of shields coming up. Which was pretty fun, because I treated her like a little kid anyway..

My last set was pretty good because I came up with something original that made her smile. She was sitting on a bench, and my wing and I sat down on the same bench. She was with her friends, and her friends were dancing while she was just watching.

I tapped her on her shoulder, she turned around and I asked: "Why aren't you dancing.?" (In my head I was expecting her to ask me the same question because I myself wasn't dancing) She replied maybe later.. and sure enough, asked me back "Why aren't you dancing?" I looked at her smiled and said "Because I don't have anyone to dance with" Kind of implying that we should dance then.... Then she turned back and said that I should dance with my friend (my wing) and I looked at her with a little laugh and said "You're funny". Anyway, that was a small little moment there but it was still fun.

Things I learnt on this night was that I have to try to either push for the number close or push for the mini date. Try and push for the mini date first and then push for the number close. This should be able to take me to the next level. If I'm comfortable with girls and getting them laughing all the time, then this is the next step that I have to take.

Places we went were: LongRoom, The joint, OnderGround, We tried to get into CQBar and GPO but changed our minds.

Sunday was pretty good at the gym because the girl that I opened with my gym opener was laughing all the time and I kept up a pretty good vibe teasing her, and I could tell she was attracted. Things I did well was to lead the conversation, smile and give off positive vibes, and kept her laughing with my little jokes.

Monday, I approached a girl in Safeway asking her "Hey do you think those tomato based pasta is better or those cream based ones" She was pretty into the conversation, she first asked me whether it was for a girl. I was a bit taken aback by that question. I wished I've said Yes, because it would have made the conversation all the more interesting. But then again, what I did well was opened strongly, positive vibe, strong voice.. good posture etc..

Well all in all 15 approaches over 4 days.. pretty good :D

GOTD May 31

Today pretty standard GOTD, walked up to two personal trainers at my gym and asked them what made them decide to become one, and the guy talked to me the whole time, while the girl didn't say anything, well I still count that was a GOTD :D

Next one was just a girl walking outside my gym, so asked her the johnny depp qs, and she seemed pretty into the discussion, so was good.

Anyway, 2 approaches today, plus talked more to the other two girls which I met previously in my gym.

One of the girl, let's call her M, I learn something from my interaction with her. When I walked up to her, I got sucked into her conversation. That was when she started asking me questions and I started answering. One thing I thing I need to do is to control the conversation with the girl. Don't let her lead too much by asking you all the questions, because it will make her lose attraction for you. Even if she starts asking, just give a short answer, and start leading the convo.

Phone Game with #close on Sat night

I realise one thing about my phone game today, I think it sucks :(

I really need to work on this, and because of that I vow to get as many # closes as possible while I go out during Fri and Saturday nights.

Anyway, here are some of the things which I think I need to improve on or what I noticed about my phone game.

1) When I called, she's going out while I'm at home, so it's like she's doing something more fun than I am.
2) No flirting at all, no sexual tension.
3) I need to get comfortable talking with ABCs and aussies. They seem to speak more fluently than me and I tend to get intimidated ? somehow...
4) Have to improve my story telling skills, the stories that I told pretty much not very interesting.
5) Have to get more #s to practice on.
6) She was controlling the conversation, she asked the questions, I answered... etc..

Well, I actually felt kind of relief after the phone call, because I realise all the things which I need to improve and that I STEPPED UP and made the call. CONGRATULATIONS to myself on having made the call and got blown out! YEAH!

Saturday FR
Tonight I met up with a fellow PUA from the Sarge forum. This guy is really good, we kept a good vibe all throughout and went to this lounge in the city called On Der Ground. I think it was asian night or something that night, but anyway, I opened a total of about 5 sets here.

First set, blowout, girl outright told me that the table's booked, basically asking me to scram!

Second set, girl wasn't too chatty..

Same with third set, for the third set I engaged the group more, but similarly group wasn't very chatty.

Fourth set was a girl near the bar, played the lying game with her. Tried to do the finger cold read but she didn't bite.

Fifth set was a one guy one girl set, and that's when I got my first number close. Number is pretty solid, and the girl even bought me a drink. :D Many thanks to my wing for helping me pull this off. Then my wing and I left for the next venue.

Next venue was Transport. I opened one set here, music was pretty loud, opened a guy and girl set, didn't really go anywhere so ejected. We left Transport after this.

Next venue was Elephant and Wheelbarrow. I opened 3 sets here, first was pretty good, but again I felt like I couldn't carry on the convo, so ejected. Next girl wasn't chatty, Third was a group of hippies, and they were easy to talk to, but wasn't really into chatting with the dude, so ejected.

After that we left and tried to find another bar in Fitzroy but got lost, so came back to the city and split after that. All in all a good night's work of 9 approaches. :D

Things I need to improve on

1) Carrying on convo with aussies. Somehow I don't feel comfortable talking with them and carrying on conversations. Not too sure why, but I definitely have to work on this.
2) Storytelling skills.
3) Need to work on my phone game. Just called the girl that I got my # close, but didn't go anywhere because there was absolutely no sexual tension at all, and she was controlling the conversation the whole time.

Today is really really good! I don't know why but for the first time in my life, there is absolutely NO approach anxiety. NONE! Here's how it went and how I think I can make it better and some lessons that I learned from it.

(Girl reading some book at the book stand with earphones on)
Me: (walk up to her and pause, she turns around, and I do the beckoning move for her to remove her earphones) Hi, You don't know me, but I thought I'd just ask you about something.
Her: Oh hi,
Me: I was having this discussion with a friend, and she was telling me that to understand girls better, you have to go read cleo and cosmo, while some girls say that's crap, and they like to read new idea and who weekly.
Her: laughs etc..

Then we start to exchange ideas about what girls and guys are like blah blah. Then she asked me what guys are like and I said.

Me: Guys like pretty objects.

This is when I made my mistake, previously while discussing about guys and girls, she mentioned that she thought that guys like pretty objects, and I reinforced her idea here which is my mistake. Shortly after this, she says, well I have to go and she leaves. I think it was because of my answer that made that happen, because I was pretty sure that a while back, she was HOOKED.

Anyway, here's what I think I did well :) Firstly, totally calm, no fear, and spoke with a good clear voice. I knew that I was going to make her smile, so I had totally no fear. I also think that I'm beginning to get comfortable in making lines work. I can see how to make it work and so I am becoming more confident in delivering these lines.

The one thing I did bad was putting guys in a light which is not that good which reflects back on me. What I should have said was that guys secretly want to meet a girl with a great personality, and who's fun, but then somehow all these girls keep treating guys like a piece of meat. etc..
something along those lines.

Oh well, every rejection is feedback, and this will make me stronger and better ! YES!

GOTD May 23rd

Today's a pretty good day,

I did two approaches!! YESSSSS, the first one's just a girl waiting for a friend, so I just tried to teased her that it was because the weather's cold, and that's why she's hiding indoors in a place she's not supposed to be. Well, that didn't go too far, and that was that. But it was a good first approach to get me chatty.

The next one's in the Gym. I'm beginning to get the hang of approaching girls in the gym. It is all about timing and a bit of luck. This time I had some pretty bad approach anxiety, because I broke the 3 s rule by about 1 hour. Anyway, there was this girl that I wanted to talk to, and I almost made the mistake of doing the "secret stalking". The one where a guy follows the girl around the gym etc..

Anyway, I was lucky enough to cross path with her while she was going to her next exercise, and I opened with:

Me: Excuse me, (pause) I thought I'd be friendly, so I wanted to come and say Hi.
Her: oh HI.

Blah blah, the next was just some small talk, she said I looked young, so I told her about my theory of how guys like to appear older and girls like to appear younger. Anyway, she seems pretty hooked as well.

Improvements:

I think my improvements today should be in my voice. I noticed my voice isn't the best today, some hints of nervousness was coming through my voice, and it wasn't very clear and loud enough. I chatted with the gym girl that I usually see, today as well, and my voice wasn't all that great too. Anyway, something to notice and fix with time.

GOTD 21st May

Hello again,

Last weekend, was pretty alright, didn't do any approaches, eventhough I went out to some bars and some clubs. Even noticed some girls checking me out while I was there too! Which makes me feel pretty good and validated :)

Anyway, today's GOTD was a pretty simple one. Saw a girl walking by, immediately say, Hey.. with a slight pause, while looking at her, then continued with "You must be a commerce student right?" I guessed correctly, so she stopped for a while and chatted with me. I think it was my combination of body language and probably correct guess that she stopped.

I didn't take this one too far because I guess, I wasn't really into it. The main lesson that I took away from this was the use of body language, and using cold reading statements to make someone curious enough to stop for a while to talk with you.

Today, I met with the gym girl that I talked to the other day, had another good vibe with her, but I noticed when I was chatting with her that she sort of pulled back, a bit of a restraint, so I stopped talking. At first I thought it was because she wanted to focus on her exercise, which she was doing. So I stopped talking, and while I was taking my rest, I waited for her to reopen me, she looked as if she would, and was considering to, but then turned away. Later I saw her walking off with another guy, (presumably her bf) while waving goodbye at me.

Anyway, I opened a group of 2 girls with the same opener, the first girl giggled, and asked the other girl to talk to me, well, I didn't chat much with them just felt good that I opened for the second time in the Gym. Pretty soon I'll be comfortable with this! :)

Today I was walking around the city, I find it more difficult to open up people who are in the streets, somehow it is easier if you're in a location where there is naturally conversation built in or that just because you two are there in the location that it is okay for you to talk (eg gym, bar, library)

Anyway, because I was in the street, I opened up a girl using a disqualifier opener.

Me: Hey, I like you shoes, I'm thinking of buying my girlfriend a pair of shoes, where did you get yours?
Her: Oh, blah blah, let me ask my friend etc..

She went on to ask her girlfriends about where to get shoes etc...

What I learnt: Disqualifier is quite powerful to disarm someone, if you just want to practice conversations. I could have continued on with the convo by discussing why some girls prefer high heels, while others do not. etc..

GOTD May 15

Yeah, I finally did something which I have always thought near impossible or really difficult to do. I opened a girl in the GYM! Today's GOTD is with a HB that frequents the gym that I go to. Here's how it went. I used a variant of an opener that I read from Lance Mason's newsletters. Thanks Lance.

Her: (listening to some music)
Me: (beckoned her to take her earphones off) Hey, I know we're not supposed to talk in the gym, but I just wanted to come and say Hi. What's your name?
Her: blahblah name..
Me: Oh, nice to meet you my name's MAM.

The rest all small talk. Actually I realise that I have quite a lot in common with this girl, I found out quite a fair bit about her. To improve this conversation, I think I could have thrown in this little bit:

"Hey, do you realize how much we have in common? I really think that it is not a coincident that I decided to come and talk to you. Do you believe that things happen for a reason? I really believe that somehow or rather, I was meant to come and talk to you today, and that we're meant to meet somehow."

Anyway, I will be having lots of fun with this opener from now on in the gym. ! :D

FR - met up with PAIR guy + night out at a club

Well, here's a field report of mine, an experience of meeting up with one of the people from PAIR,
as well as some observations and what happened during my night out at the club with this guy. It is kind of a mixed result, but at the end of the day, I believe that I learned a fair bit out of it.

Firstly, description of what happened. I get into my car ready to go to the club, I was pumped up, did the Tony Robbins incantation things, totally in state, I felt like the man, I can open up anyone anywhere and I feel like I have this vibe projecting out of me, my body language was solid, I stood straight, good posture, good walk, everything was perfect. So when I first got there, and finished parking my car, I noticed this two people checking to see how much parking they have to pay.

Immediately I opened with: "It's free" and instantly I can notice that the girl became somewhat attracted to me. I believe this is more towards my voice projection, my body language my posture everything. then I chatted with them a while.

HB: thanks,
Me: I always park here so I know. Where you guys going tonight.
Dude: blah blah this place, for friends performance. So where you going?
Me: (club name)
Dude: Oh I was there last week.
Me: Oh, you go out every week huh?
HB: *chuckle
Me: Let me guess, you guys are University friends right?
HB: Yeah I'm from Uni.

I notice there was some attraction between her and me, as she's so open to answering my questions etc. Anyway, she was with the dude, so I just wished them a good night and went my way.

Arriving at the club, it was still early, and it wasn't open yet so I waited outside. I still had my confident body posture and projecting my vibe, and I notice this group of 4 girls and a guy waiting outside. The guy seems like a badass, but they seem to be looking over at me and I'm pretty sure I heard one of the girls distinctively say "hey" in a loud enough voice to try and catch my attention. Anyway, because the guy seemed like a badass, and the girls were dressed really hot, I felt a bit wussed out, but still I feel good from that validation :D

Now for the not so good bit. I met up with this guy from PAIR. Not to say that the PAIR service isn't good, it just shattered my impression that people trying to learn this stuff are genuinely coming from a place to want to improve themselves. From what I get out of it, this guy just seemed to want to get some cheap thrills. He says he does stuff like grabbing the girls, touching them, trying to find the girl who is open to his advances. Upon further questioning how successful this is, he says he gets flake numbers, and the girls usually leave after doing the dirty dance with him.

Anyway, I noticed something else as well, while at the club, I was stuck in my head again. My body language was poor, and mechanical. I wasn't really moving right somehow in the club. I really wonder why... Is it because I was in my head? I think probably so. This experience of being in the club, and seeing a different light when I'm out with just another guy expanded my experiences a little. Firstly, I really get to observe the people in the club and see what situation it really is and here is what I realized:

1) Girls are a commodity. No matter whether they are hot or not. Reason for this is because me and the PAIR guy didn't manage to get into the first club because we didn't have girls with us.
2) There are really more guys than girls in a club. Today was like 10 to 1 ratio.
3) Some guys are just very grabby in the club, trying to get cheap thrills on the easy women.
4) Most people are there with their bunch of friends, and they're just dancing in their own group.
5) Most guys just stand around doing nothing.
6) Girls are quite exhibitionists, especially when they grind against each other while dancing.
7) It's hard when you don't have some girls with you when you go to the club, and the music is so loud that it is difficult to talk.
8) Hot girls know they have a power over guys in the club.
9) I don't know why I get stuck in my head in the club...over analysing things?? Not being comfortable there? Not sure.
10) Knowing the people that work in the club is a must to get you connected to these things.

So.. I'm wondering now whether it is good for me to go out on my own. Maybe because that will make me less self conscious, and unless I don't meet a cool PAIR guy that we can be good friends and people really don't care whether you're there alone or not, as long as you have a fun time.

Oh and I did one approach in the club, just did the "tap tap" thing, and asked her, What're you drinking? She showed me her drink and went along merrily on her way. Because of this, I realize that in a club, you can really try out a lot of stuff very quickly. Just try out all the openers that you have or anything crazy that you'd like to test out.

GOTD May 9th 2007

I did THREE approaches today!! YEAH, I feel good after all of that. It is all about being in state. Anyway, here's what happened:

Approach 1: Girl browsing some posters, went up to her and ask "Hey seen anything good?" She wasn't very chatty and only gave one word answers. She said "Just browsing". Didn't look up, wasn't very receptive, so I just left it at that.

Lesson: Asking questions, especially close ended questions. Not good.

Approach 2: Girl browsing some artsy posters. I opened with: "Hey you must be an arts student right?" She smiled, said no I'm in Dentistry etc.. I chatted with her a bit, told her what kind of posters I liked, and asked her what kind she likes. Just had a normal friendly conversation with her.

Lesson: Mini cold reads are good. I could have talked a bit more about what she studies. Since it is dentistry, I can go on about how dentists make an impact in the world, if there wasn't any dentists, there would be a lot of people with smelly breaths, how kissing would be bad etc..

Approach 3: Girl waiting by the library. I was chatting with an old friend earlier, so I was in pretty good state. Opened with: "Hey you missed it!, Just 2 minutes ago, a bunch of nudists went running by." (which was true) Anyway, I had another friendly conversation with her, found out she is doing teaching but interested in arts.

Lesson: When you're in state, you can do anything! Anyway, I learned that when she asked me back what I studied, I should have been more confident about it. And also realise that you can expand the conversation more, talk about the movie you watched "Mr Holland's opus" about this person who's obsessed about money, but in teaching, but finally realize how many lives he's touched. I can also say something like, you can touch many hearts. Little ones, but nonetheless hearts.

GOTD 7th May

For some reason, I found it really hard to do the Girl of the Day (GOTD) challenge. Basically what I set myself to do is to approach and talk/flirt with one girl a day. So I was sitting down on the bench, totally in my head thinking what to say, what line to approach with, and I realise that is actually making me even MORE nervous, and stuck in my head.

So I decided to walk back to my car to cool off first, and think why I feel the way I did, and I realize that it is ALL ABOUT THE STATE that you're in. When you're in STATE, I can say anything and make it work. It doesn't have to be a line. So from now on.. I have to remember these few realizations and internalize them:

1) It is all about the STATE that I'm in.
2) It is always better to make a statement when you approach rather than ask a question.

I realise this is probably not very profound, but at the point of realizing it, it was pretty profound. So after cooling off in my car, I went and talked briefly to a girl in the elevator, and said Hi to a moving target. Not very fantastic, but then it's a start.

The George Hotel in St Kilda on Friday or Saturday nights is full of HB's just waiting for an approach. ((HB7-10)
The Elephant and Wheelbarrow in Bourke St, Melbourne is currently listed as the best PU location in commercial magazines.... typically Saturday nights. This is a great place for new starters to test their sarging.
Mink Bar in st Kilda on Sunday evening is laid back and often loaded with HB's.
The Angler's Tavern in Maribyrnong on a Sunday afternoon from 3pm onwards turns out a great crowd. Plenty (and I mean plenty) of HB's are everywhere.
Agreed that Chadstone Shopping Centre is a great place for PU's. Highpoint is also great, best times are Friday evenings and Saturday/Sunday days.
QBar on a Friday night is full of drunk HB's, good for trying new sarging lines and routines. Honky Tonks is also good on a Saurday night until 3am or so after which the place empties out and only the spaced out chicks are left.
Many of the bars in Brunswick St are great! In particular the Polly Bar which has a great atmosphere for sarging. The NightCat is great for a dance and review the action, but the music often gets too loud to be able to hold down a conversation. The Provicial has plenty of HB's (typically around the 5-8 standard) but is full of typical male hero's!
For some really HB's try Boutique or Frequency in Greville St, Prahran. They range around the HB8-10 range but these are high class babes with attitude!!!

The Beach (on st kilda rd not that actual beach) - Sunday is best get there early if you want to be let in, no matter who you are.
Mink - Any day of the weekend early is best to avoid disappointment.

Date with Destiny

This is just to write my experiences on the Date with Destiny programme by Anthony Robbins. By the way, if any of you were considering of going to DWD, GO! It has been the most fantastic experience, I've learnt so much, and the best thing is, he lays out the step by step process that you have to take to achieve the goals you want, hence achieving your destiny.

Anyway, my top 4 one year goals would be to:
1) Be great at meeting women, become good at social situations etc.
2) Go to an Impromptu class
3) Work on getting a salary of 60K at work
4) Finish my website

My life's mission statement:
The purpose of my life is to be my very best, enjoy the beauty of life, and to uplift myself and others.

My new PRIMARY question:
How can I appreciate even more the extraordinary person that I am, and use it to impact myself and others.

It's been a while since my last post, and now it is time to get back into the game. Reason for my absence has been because I got a girlfriend shortly after doing the Stylelife challenge, of course the story is not all rosy and happy after that, because I realise that if I stick with the girl, my growth will stay the same and be stunted.

Anyway, I do feel sad breaking up with my girlfriend of 6 months, and she's really into me too, but it is a choice I have to make. So now is my action plan for the next year. Yes, I have set a one year goal to become better with women, my social life, and for more personal growth.

The plan is to do the Girl of the Day Challenge (GOTD) as suggested by Lance Mason's newsgroup. Basically what it is is that every single day you flirt with the cutest girl you see, logistics be dammed. You don't care what you're doing, don't care what she's doing, all you have to do is to walk up and flirt/talk with her. And after that, give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. So I'll be doing the GOTD every single day.

Next willl be to meet up with as many PUAs, RAFC, those in the Game, anyone who is learning, go out, and have some fun meeting girls at clubs and bars. This I will do every Friday and Saturday night.

Also, not neglecting taking care of my health, eat healthily and go to the gym 3 times a week.

That should do it, will report back on my travels.. so stay tuned, as this site will start getting busy.

Went to a card reader to get my psychic reading :) Fun fun.. Here's the feedback based on the questions on the stylelife day 14

Did you feel that the reading was good or bad? Why?
It was good, but wasn't that great, because it was pretty general, and didn't really predict my future much, just managed to predict what's currently happening or what's happened in the past.

Did you feel that the reader was performing a generic routine or genuinely connecting with you? Why?
Genuinely connecting as it was based on cards, therefore the readings on each card will be different. Also, the cards were relating to my questions that I posed to the psychic reader. Asked for feedback from time to time to confirm her readings.

Did you feel that the reader understood you better than a stranger would? Why?
Not really as most of the readings pretty generic

Do you feel that the reader was in touch with a higher power? Why?
No because she seems to just interpreting the cards based on her knowledge of the cards.

Do you feel that you would want to visit the reader again? Why?
No, because I think I can do card reading myself, maybe I need to visit a psychic which doesn't use any props.

Well the story I came up with from Cosmopolitan goes like this:

Hey guys, I need a quick opinion on something, I was just reading this interesting article from Cosmo, now do you guys think that in a relationship where the girl is more dominant the relationship will work our perfectly?

Now the reason I'm asking is because, I've got this friend, he's only 22 but his girlfriend's 28, and I can sort of tell that his girlfriends' the more dominant one. Well the thing is, they're both in a happy committed relationship.

What do you think?

Anyway, I opened 5 girls with this, but then eventhough I got positive responses, I didn't think it was a good topic for discussion, probably because by discussing about it, the girls have to imply that for the relationship to work out, they have to be submissive. Any ideas whether this might be so??

Anyway here are the summary of my approaches:

Approach 1: not that great, voice tone and body language was off, had to really force myself to get into the mood to open. Consequently, girl's response was short and quick and just listened politely.

Approach 2: Asian girl, more positive about it, but then didn't really take it anywhere either.

Approach 3,4,5: White girls, their answers are all depends. Eventhough positive.. All of them did say that Cosmo's a crappy magazine though ;)

In reflection

I realise now that my first approach is going to be tough, I don't know whether this will always be the case, but then I realise after approach number 2, approaches 3,4, and 5 got so much easier. Even my speech became smoother and free flowing rather than stuttering, stopping and thinking about what to say next.

Also I realise the importance of thinking out what you want to say carefully when you're creating a new story. Hopefully I'll be able to get to the stage one day where I can just spit out stories on the fly without having to edit it too much and it'll still turn out fine.

You know how sometimes pictures in your car license looks bad? Well the other day I was getting my student photo taken, and the first shot looks horrible. So the girl asked me whether I wanted to get it taken again, and I said yeap.. The next shot turned out alright, it wasn't great either but it okay. And she said to me: "Hey, that looks good" So just for fun I asked her: "On a scale of 1 to 10, how will you rate that photo?" She looked at me, smiled and said.. "For you.. I'll give an 11"

Improvisation show story

Hey you know the other day I was at an improvisation show. Have you been to one? It's like "Whose line is it anyway" but in Melbourne. And you know how improvisation, the improvisors have to get suggestions from audience right? Anyway.. there was this scene acted out by two women. One older and the other younger. The younger girl was playing the part of a guy who just came back from war after 5 years. And the older girl was her lover. So.. there was this guy who shouted "Kiss her!" at first they ignored him.. Then he shouted again.. "Pleeease?" And you know what happened? They really did!

The other two stories I did was the gay cat story and 100% perfect girl.

And as the years passed, a plague hit their city. And many people died.

And years later...there was this guy...who was walking down the street...and there was a beautiful girl that was walking down the street towards him. And as they passed each other, both people recalled a faint glimpse of a memory of having seen each other before. But they continued walking their own separate ways...

I realise I'm challenged in approaching mixed sets and also groups which are 3 or larger. Mixed sets is especially hard for me, think I'll post it on the stylelife forum on how to handle this for day 9

Anyway, onward to my field report:

Approach 1: 4 set all girls starting Melbourne Uni soon, and used the dogs and cats opener. Asked them whether they're all doing the same course after I've asked them the How do you know each other question.

Approach 2: 3 set. 1 girl 2 guys. Dogs and cats opener at the coffee shop at Borders. One of the guys and the girl are in a relationship so I congratulated them and left.

Approach 3: 3 set all girls at Max Brenner. One of the girls gave me eye contact before, so turned back approached and talk to her. One of the girls laughed out loud when I mentioned the opener. They said they're housemates, so I asked them who's the best cook in the house.

Well, that's it for my day 11. Have to work hard on catching up the rest.

The response was very positive , and begun to chase me , and said things like she isnt an arrogant person , and other kind of indirect comments telling me in one way or another that she is interested .

I somehow find today's challenge a bit more challenging than normal, maybe because I'm really not used to throwing disqualifiers at girls. I guess this is the first time I'm consciously having to throw disqualifiers at them, anyway.. here's how it all went:

Approach 1: HB 8.5 at hair salon, she was washing my hair, so I chatted with her for a bit, and in the end we somehow chatted about something related to age, and I found out that she's only about 18 years old. I threw the disqualifier.. "Oh, I think you're too young for me" She just smiled and laughed, but in retrospect I think I should have said the opposite: "Oh, I think you're too old for me."

Approach 2: HB 8 Used a situational opener, then started off with the Long distance relationship opener, then when she laughed, used the disqualifier "You know what, somehow your laugh reminds me of my little sister". She just laughed on that.

Approach 3: 2 set, Gave the long hair or short hair opener, and rooted the opener by giving the reason that "my girlfriend" showed me photos of her 2 years ago and I didn't felt as attracted to her as I am now. The interesting bit is, after I told them that, all their answers were shorter answers, like I've totally disqualified myself off and they don't see a reason to chat with me anymore.

Approach 4: Mixed set, used the cats and dogs opener, but I did it quite half heartedly as I really was pretty tired and just wanted to get the assignment done and over with. The guy did most of the talking though haha seemed like the opener "opened" him instead, while the girls just looked on, I tried to get them talking but they just gave one word answers. Anyway used the disqualifier: "You just somehow remind me of my little sister" and ejected after that.

Anyway, today was the day I met up with another of the forum guys, Matt. He's mostly into online dating, so we met up for a bit and chatted about what kind of girls we like etc. I did an approach while I was at a bar with Matt, opened two white chicks and asked them what they really thought about asian guys. However, they took it as a racist kind of question, so I guess it is not a good idea to ask this question in the future, however they did say that they didn't think any less of asian guys or whatever.

Also, I really do think I've got a mixed set approach anxiety problem. I went to another bar on my own after meeting Matt, and just couldn't bring myself to approach mixed sets. damn.. I really have got to work on this.

So all in all, in retrospect, I think I learned that:
1) Disqualifiers like I have a GF will totally put off girls, maybe completely.
2) Haven't really used any disqualifiers on girls with bitch shields totally up, so haven't experienced that yet.
3) Should really remember that if a girl is young, should just flip it and say she's too old for me. Same if the girl is older than me, say she's too young for me.
4) Don't ask white girls the question about what they think about asian guys as it shows you're insecure about something and also it may come across as racist.

Day 9 FR

I just realized what area in PU I'm currently challenged.

So far I'd say that the Modern Man course has done a great job in giving me belief and removing almost all approach anxiety. I've still got to work on a lot of areas on PU but currently, I find it hard to do mixed sets approach.

I was trying to do day 10 and day 11 today, but then I realize that I can easily approach girls who're 2 sets or 3 sets, but then when I try to approach mixed sets, I almost froze out. Especially if there are guys in there who obviously dress well and are able to give me a challenge.

In the end I approached a 3 set in the train station with a guy in it, but that guy looked nerdy, so that's why I did it.

But if the guy doesn't look nerdy then it's hard for me to do it.. Will post this on the stylelife forum to see what comments or help I get.

Day 7 + 8 FR rolled into one

Too busy yesterday to do my Day 7 and today was determined to do Day 7 and Day 8 all rolled into one. Generally all went pretty well, all of it opened at bookstores, grocery stores, Shopping mall.

What I learned:
1) Time constraint
2) Reason for being there
3) Don't lean in when talking to them
4) Being animated when doing the opener
5) Work on voice projection so that it is loud enough.

All the openers went well, and Style you're right the KEY is having time constraint + reason for asking. Here goes my FR -

Approach 1: Long distance relationship opener (LDR) about HB 7, she wasn't too chatty.

Approach 2: HB7 (LDR opener) she commented how it is going to be difficult as girls are needy. And girls need to be able to trust that the guy is not cheating on her blah blah.. she was so nice to talk to! :) Too bad I still don't have the skills yet to number close her.. :(

Approach 3: HB 7 Hair opener, she interrupted me and gave the answer "long hair" straight away, which killed the rest of the opener. I figured it was because I said I wanted a quick opinion, and she wasn't too chatty at the time.

Approach 4: HB 7 Hair opener, went well, smiled and all, but wasn't too chatty either, just said short or long hair is nice.

... The rest were all pretty similar..10 approaches in total in a day :)

All in all, 90% of them opened up and were curious about me asking questions such as this, and were friendly and either were chatty or just gave short opinions.

Can't wait to know what the other challenges are ;)

** Will You Buy Me a Drink? **

A cute little lady approaches you in a bar and asks, "Will you buy me a drink?"

Or you're talking with a rare beauty, or maybe dancing, and she gives you the old, "Are you going to buy me a drink?"

What do you do? What do you say? Do you buy her the drink?

If you've been around the block a little, you've probably come to realize that it's usually not a good idea to respond to these drink requests in a positive fashion. For many reasons...

1) Club drinks are way expensive.

2) You are probably not way rich.

3) She may not be attracted to you at all and simply be using you to finance her night out.

4) She may reply "thanks" ... turn and walk off ... then hand the drink to her boyfriend (it happens).

5) Most importantly, buying her a drink frames you as the pursuer and her as the pursued; you as the contestant and her as the prize; you as being below her and having to pay and bribe her for her time and attention. When what you actually want to communicate, and as soon as possible, is just the opposite.

So you could just say "No!"

"Hell no!"

"Go away!"

"Leave me alone, you bar slut!"

But it's also possible she could actually like you. It's possible this is her "line" and she's trying to meet you. Maybe she doesn't even care about the drink. Not probable, but possible. Or maybe you've been talking with her for a while and you're feeling a little chemistry.

Is it "better to be safe than sorry" or to "throw caution to the wind"?

How can you protect yourself and your finances, without appearing rude or cheap or weird? And how can you refuse her request without driving her away?

Day 6 FR - Feels supplicative

Hey all, anyone else feel the same way? It just seems to me that I feel supplicative giving compliments like that. Is it because the compliments are not genuine enough? Or is that normal?..

Anyway.. here's how day 6 went:

Approach 1: Cute indian girl, about a 7. Commented on her cute shoes, positive response, smile and thanks, and I asked her for some clothing store recommendations.

Approach 2: Hired gun outside restaurant, commented on how she has a beautiful smile, she just looked at me real strange like I'm some weirdo.

Approach 3: Japanese girl at train station, commented on her nice looking bag and asked her where she bought them

Approach 4: Cute girl about a 7.5, Commented on how her hairstyle suits her face. Just a thanks, but the way she said it really made me feel supplicative. I left after telling her that.

Approach 5: 2 set of white girls, about a 6.5 and a 7. Commented on her boots, her face lit up for a while, that made me feel good.

1) I approached the same korean girl that which was my first approach during the askingn about which store location to go to. She recognized me instantly and was excited, but then I killed it by complimenting about the bag and asking her where she bought it, somehow it lost the mood after I said that. She's so cute though, hope I bump into her again during the challenge :)

2) I still have to make sure I don't lean in and also to speak louder, so that I'm heard.

3) When complimenting a girl, I think it is best to just compliment then leave or else you'll come across as needy or AFC like. Usually the girl will feel happy and smile when you give a good compliment, but afterwards usually is awkward.

Approach 2: 3 set of white chicks, HB 7s, told me they're not really from around here, so didn't give a reply. Asked me whether I was, so seemed a bit strange why I would ask others about it.

Approach 3: Club promoter girl who approached me. HB 8. Suggested Stussy at Crowns.

Approach 4: 2 set HB 7, Suggested Chapel street.

Approach 5: HB 8, suggested Melb Central.

Day 4 mission accomplished.

2) NO brain farts.. just watch out for them
3) Don't speak too fast.

I've also managed to come up with a new opener, it is a settle an argument for us opener. I met a friend at a grocery store, and started chatting, so I talked about how I read girl's magazines so that I can understand girls better. And my friend said not to trust everything that is said in the magazine. But then I said that if it's written by a girl in a girl's magazine then it has to be true.. So I stopped a nearby HB 7 and asked her opinion. She seemed quite keen to play along and gave her comments. =)

Well day 3 is pretty easy over here in Australia, not to mention really fun!!

Overall out of the 9 people who picked up the phone

3 recommended a movie: 2 Superman, and 1 Walk the line. 1 too busy to talk, and I didn't press on further but I should have. 4 hung up straight away 1 doesn't speak english

What I think I learnt:
1) time constraint is important, just the phrase "just quickly... " helps a lot.

2) Keep pressing on trying to initiate a casual chat eventhough the person seems confused why you're asking this question, or gives a reason that doesn't get what you want.

3) Keep pressing on asking for a movie in different ways if all else fails.

4) Stressing on key words such as "movie" "just quickly" "recommendation" so that the person who answers don't get confused.

Date with Superman movie.

Basically there was this scene where Superman saves Lois Lane. And I could see the expression on my date's face, she was so wowed.. Day 2 - TASK 6

Yeah! completed day 2 task 6, and here's my field report.

Approach 1 - NZgal: Asian new zealander visiting at my work place, so decided to go talk to her. Walked up to her and introduced myself. Found out her research work, plays the piano, goes for classical concerts. Dark brown eyes.

Approach 2 - Coffeeshop: Chatted about coffee while waiting for it. How good it smells in the morning when you walk in for walk. Light brown eyes.

Approach 3 - Borders1: Grabbed a Dating Scene Investigation book and asked her why is it that girls are more attracted to guys who're married? Started talking to her about different personality types based on the Personality Plus book, did some cold reading on her, asked her about herself and managed to email close her :) Dark brown eyes.

Approach 4 - Borders2: Hired gun working at borders. White girl, Asked her why is it that guy mags have pictures of girls on them and girl magazines have pictures of girls on them too? She said it's because girls are very competitive. How true :) Grey eyes.

Approach 5 - Safeway1: Used a vegemite opener, asked her how to make vegemite taste nice. White chick, light brown eyes.

Approach 6 - Safeway2: Hot asian chick about a 7.5 on my scale, wished I could have email close her as well. Saw her browsing some ice creams, and asked her which two flavours would she pick? then joked about how bananas are so expensive. Dark brown eyes.

Approach 7 - Safeway3: Just casual chit chat how are you with the indian cashier girl. Dark brown eyes.

Openers that I've used today:

1) Coffee fan opener
If the girl is a coffee fan, tell her to try this. Go without coffee for about 2 months, then go to your favourite coffee shop and order one. It'll be the best experience in the world and you won't be able to forget that cup.

2) Guy/gal magazine opener
Why is it that guy magazines have all the pictures of girls on them and girl magazines have all the pictures of girls on them as well?

3) Vegemite opener
Vegemite is an australian thing, how can I make it taste nice?

Also, I think I could have at least email closed the asian safeway babe, by using the opener, Are you single? Because there's this guy, he's .....etc, and I think you two will get along well together.

Also, I think I need to be more calm and not nervous, because when I was nervous I cut a girl's conversation short and interrupted her. Bad move.

Overall another great experience. Learnt a lot today, not to be scared about approaching.

Day 1 - TASK 5

Here's my field report for task 5. I went for a religious gathering today with a friend, and we saw a hot Japanese girl. Remembering the challenge, I decided to talk to her later.

Approach 1 - HBJap: I circled around the room waiting for the right time to approach. As I didn't want to 'hover' around her, I sort of went as far across the room as possible so as not to let her spot me hovering around. At the time, she was chatting with 2 other Jap girls. So when I saw her actively engaged to one, and the other was sort of left open, I instantly went in and opened the friend. Ended up making small talk to 3 of them, and another one joined in later. We talked about the religion, where they're from, how long they've been in Melbourne, and just general chit chat. Really wanted to ask her for her email or number but as her friends were there with her, felt too shy to do that.

Approach 2 - Indian girl: Still at the religious meeting, I went looking for my next set, saw an indian girl waiting for her friend to finish chatting and went in with the same opener as before. Chatted with her about the religion, and found out that she's pretty new in the practice as I am.

Approach 3 - Organizer Guy: Next set, went in to talk to this guy wearing an organizer uniform. Just walked in, extended my hand and introduced myself. Asked him what he does, and what does the initials on his uniform stood for. He then introduced me to another guy, who knew my friend, so we talked a bit about how we knew each other etc.

Approach 4 - OZ student: There was an Australian student before who gave a small speech about his experience with the religion, so went up and talk to him. Found out that he's currently studying and started talking to him about his experience, and got his email and number to contact him in case I have any questions about the religion.

This is going to be great. The stylelife challenge is just in 2 days time.

The other day I met up with some of the stylelife forum members, ScubaSteve, Boost, and EntourageagainsttheMachine. We sarged Lotus in South Yarra.

Entourage started the ball rolling by approaching two hot asian chicks dancing on their own and ended up doing a little dance with one of the chicks.

Myself I opened 2 hot asian babes.. in two different sets, but both didn't go to well. Here's what happened.

First asian babe was about an 8 on my scale. She's with 3 other friends, and one guy with afro hairstyle who seems to be in a relationship with another girl. So I opened with the "Hey guys, my horoscope today said that I'll be making some new friends" Didn't really go too well though, they all looked at me weird.. haha

Second asian babe was also about an 8. At first I thought she was alone, but actually her friends was just next to her, a couple. So I opened directly to her with: "Hey, doesn't this place just makes you feel like dancing?" She laughed at first, but then got a bit shy, her friend started to edged her on though, very funny. So I asked them how did they know each other. But then another guy came up and said something to her, and I kind of left after that. I think I should have stayed and talked to the friend a little, so when the guy left, I can continue talking to her. But that's cool ;) Everything adds to experience.

So at the end we left for a coffee place, not before the first asian babe eyeing me before I leave :P What a great night, I can't wait for the Stylelife challenge to begin!!

Hello my dear blog,

I'm sorry for ignoring you for so long, been pretty busy, anyway, here's a blog to keep you happy. Today I manage to get the email off a cute Japanese girl from a bookshop.

I was originally just planning to practice opening some girls just to get rid of my fear of approaching, and I didn't realise how bad my fear is after so long of not practicing. However, I saw this cute girl browsing the Jap comic section and I thought, hey I have to go and talk to her.

My opener was nothing fantastic.. Overall the conversation went something like this:

Me: Hey, can I ask you a question?
Her: yeah
Me: When you read manga, do you like the story better or the art?
Her: The story.

So that was my opener basically, nothing fantastic, but then started talking and found out more about her. She's studying English her and have been here for about 1 year. Then we just chatted more about anime and manga and some Japanese food, and in the end, I just said: "Hey it's been nice chatting with you, but I have to go now, Do you have email?" Then she said yeah, and I just got it off her.

I felt fantastic after that, what an experience. However I know I have to improve better, because basically I did an interview pickup, not much flirty fun chat happening which would have been better.

quick update!

So, here's an update of what's been up with some of the girls that I got email and telephone from, the first was the girl I met at the takeaway shop, things seem to be progressing fine.. and here's the story..

So after getting her email and added her to online chat, chatted with her for a while, and tried to set up a meeting, but unfortunately she can't make it, so waited a week.. met her at the takeaway food shop for a while, and teased her about being able to learn how to cook while she's working at that shop. Then on Friday morning chatted with her online again, and tried to set a date on Saturday, but she'll be busy then, and she suggested that afternoon itself, so.. ended up hanging out with 2 of her other friends. Went for lunch, and a movie later.

Everything seems to be going well, Kept up the teasing as much as possible, and manage to get the friend interested in me too.. but I'm just wondering whether I've paid too much attention to the friend as later when we chatted online, she asked me whether she thought that she was too quiet.. hmm, I think I might have stuffed up a little, as I remembered Mystery's teaching that you have to find something about the girl that you can like other than her looks, and at the moment, I can't seem to find anything.. (apart from her looks) so will have to try and set up another meeting to do A3 :)

So.. haven't heard from her for 3 days already after that day, think I'll call her later today and chat a bit :) no asking her out or anything, just not to let the line go slack.. as David D would put it.

And another girls's number that I got is a student studying at my workplace. .. she's about a 7.5 on my scale, cute and very chatty and friendly, I got her number but she didn't get mine, so I messaged her a day or two ago.. asking how she was and teasing that at least while she's on holiday, all the printers at work are safe from being broken by her. Hmm, didn't get any reply from her though.. I wonder if I should have reminded her who I was, I thought she'd immediately know it was me and at least have given me a reply.. alternatively, she could have given me a fake number, which I doubt.. maybe I should email her or something.. if I don't see her at work tomm :)

Well, so that's all for now.. will try my best to be hardworking and update my blogger.. not to forget my goal of becoming a great person.. changing from chump to CHAMP!

On a side note, I'm beginning to find it hard to maintain my voice.. as I keep forgetting during situations, but will keep on reminding myself not to forget the quality of my voice.. training it is harder that I thought!@!!!

Now I begin to realise that blogging does take up some time.. anyway, a quick update before this gets too old..

Few positive things been happening, and I'll list them down with my usual point style notes...

1) Been testing out smiling at every girl that I make eye contact with, not sure whether this is a good idea or not, as some girls will smile back, some will just look blankly at me, some will give me a weird look, hmm..

2) Been talking to supermarket cashiers and trying to turn everything from a transaction into an interaction.. some openers that I've used are.. So how's your day, been doing a lot of scanning? Usually at this point they'll say something like ooh yeah busy been working the whole day blah blah.. so I follow up with... So what's the most interesting thing you've scanned today?

3) But I do find the eye contact smile thing is useful though, as I met a girl that way, it went this way.. eye contact... smile... say Hi! and then started chatting.. I think either she's a really friendly girl or she has some interest in me.. and got her email address..

will post updates on how it goes :)

4) Been also wondering, what does it feel like to to be sarging a girl who turns out to be richer, have more friends and also more successful then I am. Somehow I feel like I've nothing to offer her, I wonder what other people think.....

2 weeks after..

Well.. it's a little over 2 weeks since the workshop, and I haven't been doing much practicing sad to say.. Things that I notice if I don't practice consistently is that I start to lose the mood to do so and tend to fall back into old habits... BAD!!! BAD BAD!!!

Anyway, the things that did get stuck into my mind is that my voice is very important, even I'm beginning to lose track of my voice, and begin to sound supplicated.. the difference now is I'm so much more aware of my voice now that I keep consciously trying to speak louder and clearer everytime, but it still feels so alien to me.. But will keep trying..

Another thing been trying to do is to put on 5 more KG... I MUST! put on 5 more KG have more muscular arms, bigger chest, and V shape body and nice shoulders..

Other than that, I'm afraid I'll fall back into my old patterns, but will try everytime.. to keep in mind that I have to try to give playful smile to girls.. and approach and talk.. and most importantly.. make every TRANSACTION into an INTERACTION!!

Well I thought of something today, I think this will only work on lone-wolfs.. interested to try it out someday..

It goes something like this:

Me: Hey can I ask you some questions?
Her: yeah
Me: Which do you think's better? Cats or Dogs?
Her: blah
Me: Which do you like better? Red or blue?
Her: blah

Choices neg revisited and food stall girl

Hello it's me again :) Good to see so many new faces reading my blog,

anyway, short revisit to the choices neg, I tried it fast this time, but I think I did it too fast, and I didn't make eye contact just said it while pointing at the food I want.

Next time, try making eye contact, raise your eyebrow, say "REALLY?" and then only pick the other one, by saying: "In that case I'll have the other one please"

and food stall girl, while I was buying a potato cake at Flinders St station, the girl at the food stall asked me where I was from?

I looked surprised, said where I was from, and she kinda said yeah you have the look that you're from that country, and I said: "Have you always been noticing guys?"

That drew a smile from her :) But didn't really take it anywhere from there though, I wondered if I could have gotten her phone number by being direct about it..

Anyway, that felt good :)

Blonde shit tests revisited

This is just a revisit of one of the shit tests that I got from the blonde which went something like:

So what happened today was I subconsciously used the same line from the blondes on a girl that comes to visit our house from time to time, probably interested in my housemate or something..

Shit test defused.. very cool, and she said it in a comfortable way.. will remember to try this sometime..

Well, 1 week after the course.. time really flies, and I've really begun to notice that I'm beginning to see the world with a different light. Everything seems better, and I'm getting this frame of mind that every girl wants me and I am capable of getting any girl at all.

I really think that this positive attitude of mine is noticeable by people as I really can tell that I'm giving out positive vibes and everything seems to be falling in place nicely :)

Also, I'm always noticing my tone of voice and making sure I make a conscious effort to talk louder at all times, as well as I'm always thinking of ways to open girls.. and when I think of one which is roughly good, I open without hesitation...

For example today I talked to two girls which I would never have done before, and I really surprised myself.. here's how it went and how I can improve further..

Was trying out the choices neg today on a takeaway food shop girl.

Basically the choices neg goes something like this:
Me: So which one do you think is better? The spicy chicken or the teriyaki chicken?
Her: The spicy chicken is better.
Me: Ok, in that case I'll go with the teriyaki chicken.

Tried it out today, but realised that it's important to say it almost immediately after the she says her choice.. so that it doesn't taper down and lose it's lustre.

Will test it out everytime I get food or any situation that seems fitting. All part of my exercise to make every transaction an interaction.

The girl that I tried out was a cute girl from China. Which I found out by saying:

Me: So you're from Hong Kong right?
Her: No I'm from China.

I think it's better to make an assumption and ask a question rather than ask directly "So where are you from?" So it doesn't seem like you're questioning, and it will seem like you're reading into her, which is more interesting.

MM workshop part 2

This is the end.. For every ending, there will be a new beginning. Which is what this blog will be about today, to document the last day of the MM seminar.. The beginning will be a major revamp of my life.. which is what the MM seminar has made me realise. In these two days, I've experienced stuff that I'll never even dream of experiencing. This morning, I woke up from the previous night's MM workshop, and I just thought to myself.. "was that a dream??" It really had that powerful impact on me.

Okay, here goes day 2:

First stop, met my coach at Metropol, went for dinner, and met up with another coach and his client. Both coaches agreed that I really need to work on my voice projection. I never have realised how important that is until today, I've heard Jeffy from RSD talk about it, but never would have thought how badly it is affecting me until I get comments from these coaches.

Well I'm seriously considering either getting a voice coach, or singing lessons or something to fix it, or start doing the exercises from the Speech book that I have.

I did an exercise where we started talking to each other by standing really far away from each other and just talking really loud to each other.. That was real fun expecially when we're getting all the smiles from passerbys thinking what the hell are we doing?? That's was pretty cool, but it does hammer down the importance of me getting over talking soft and projecting a confident and strong masculine voice.

Then we started to walk along Fitzroy st, opening and approaching.. the other client's much better than I am at it, can hold the set for much longer time than I can. The biggest problem that I'm having with opening sets are just not being in my head and just let everything go and just converse and vibe normally. What I did tonight was more of just asking questions.. I even got a point where these two girls just blatantly said that "I feel like I'm being interviewed"

Important thing to note here today is about riffing off topics. I have to be able to do that, and not just ask normal boring questions.. which will come off as conducting an interview.

So nothing much in terms of attraction building, most if not all the time my conversations bordered around:
1) What's happening?
2) What are your plans tonight?
3) How do you all know each other?
4) What are you drinking?

Answers to which I can't expand on, or maybe not good enough to trail to topics which I'm more confident of talking about. Most of these conversations lead to stuff like bars and clubs, and alcoholic drinks, which is better etc.. which I have absolutely no idea about, so probably that plays a major factor into why I can't riff of them. Or maybe I have to think of ways to say whatever they say and move onto another conversational thread that's more easy to talk to for me.

Another reason which I think may be a factor would be that I can't read into Australians at all, I don't know their life, I don't know what might be running through their mind, I don't know their interests, and therefore can't riff off topics....

Well anyway, highlights of blown outs include:

Things I learnt
---------------
1) Importance of not using routines, I can see now why depending on routines can be bad, firstly, if you can't convey it properly, it'll seem incongruent and you'll be blown out straight away. I realise this as my questions are sort of becoming routines for me, I don't have anything else, and my brain sort of stays fixed into a pattern which I've grown comfortable resulting in blownout after blownout. But then I still think sometimes routines can be used but have to be used sparingly and only if you can deliver it congruently.

2) Don't come across as interviewing, I think to do that, I'll have to mix in questions and statements. Therefore I have to have some relevant stories to tell for club situations. Which is something i'll have to prepare. Also MAKE more statements!!

3) You really have to assess and calibrate yourself first before going for the approach. This is to judge what sort of people you're approaching and therefore calibrate your energy level and what you're going to approach with. I realise this after approaching the Docklands high class chick, and also the Greek people.. totally different from the Blondes.. and others..

4) When people are eating.. just talk for a little while and then move on. Don't stay too long.

5) VOICE Projection!! very important, probably have to find a voice coach.

6) IMPROVISATION class? probably thinking of taking that up, since I can't seem to riff off things.. and just accepting their answer as it is.

7) Smiling.. important to do it at the right moment... especially when telling a routine or doing something similar so that it's light hearted and people know that it's a joke.

8) C&F lines.. USE IT WITH CONGRUENCY.. you cannot start off with rapport rapport and then suddenly C&F all of a sudden.. you have to be playful and animated at the start, and then only when you throw in the C&F it'll be normal. Also.. C&Fs should be thrown in without hesitation.. or else it'll come across as you're trying to remember some line.. also USE WITH CARE.. not all lines work for me.. somehow, maybe because I'm not in character or they're just not suitable for Aussie girls.. for example, the line that I thought was C&F before when people say I look familiar and I'll tell them is that a pickup line? DOES NOT WORK!!

9) Realise that most of the asians here are ABC!! and treat them accordingly like an Aussie not what you would this it is!!

10) Power of belief, you really have to believe that women want you as strongly as you believe that 1 + 1 = 2

11) When talking to service people, make it an INTERACTION not a transaction. They are usually bored when every single day people just say the same thing, so if you make their life livelier, they'll definitely feel better.

12) Be more worldly in knowledge, experience more go out more and talk to people more, you'll definitely find out more things and can express yourself better.

1) In the two set that I was talking to, when one of them said that "He's OUR husband", I should have responded with: "Oh my god, he's such an UN-lucky guy, most guys have trouble dealing with just one girl, and he has both of you!"

2) With the blondes, I realise now how heavily they were shit testing me. Anyway, I think I responded pretty well when they girl said I should buy her a drink. She went: "You should buy me a drink and sing her a song" and I said: "Why don't you buy ME a drink and I'll sing her a song". And she responded with: "I don't buy guys drinks" Luckily I didn't back down because if I did, then it would have been worse. I could have followed up with: "What's the deal with girls wanting gender equality yada yada, here's your chance to prove that by buying ME a drink."

3) Heard this from my coach if I'm sarging at the gym. Stand and look at a girl, when she's done, say: I bet you can do Xkg more..

2) Met this asian dude called Mark, which is so much more in tune with his reality than me eventhough I'm bigger and taller than he is, he's so much more confident and better at girls than I am.

Hello my avid reader fans out there.. betcha been waiting for this post.. well here it is!!

I'm pretty tired so I'll just be rambling on and not bothering to edit what I write..

Let's see.. we started off at a bar let's call it P3 and the first thing I had to work on was voice projection. Which was something I needed to work on as I'm pretty soft spoken, which is a no no in a bar and club situation with loud music going on. Well at P3 I firstly did a 3 set, and then a 2 set later before bouncing off to another Fitzroy st.

At Fitzroy, we went to some clubs and some bars, I can't remember them all, but I think it's called Metropol and Felix, and .. some others..

Well anyway.. here are some of the openers I used, most of them were to just to create rapport, I didn't do much interactions but got shit tests as well..

Most of the shit tests were from more mature women, that I talked to, they tend to know what's going on, and they're just controlling it more than me. Scary..

Stuff that I learned

1) Voice projection.. talk LOUDER!!!!!!
2) When to approach, have to wait for the right time.. not when the body language is closed off, but when it's more open to approach. Also have to look out and think where you're going to sit or stand.. and just go in there.
3) Catch their attention by saying HEY!!.. (works most of the time)
4) If people are dancing.. it's harder to catch their attention and talk to them, cos they're just out there to have fun and enjoy themselves.
5) Have to tease them... but I'm still not very good at that.. the only way to do that is to be more social do it more.. get more shit tests.. and then think of these situations and how you would best improve on them.
6) Everytime before I approach, I get the fear of approaching, but after I approach... I realise it's okay.. which is a realization that I have to keep with me at all times..
7) Body language.. always lean in closer when you talk to your target after a while, but do it at an angle, and close it if you have good rapport
8) If there is a 2 set, then what you do is.. engage both sets, but you have to position yourself so that you can interact with both, don't just leave one hanging.
9) Body language.. stand with one foot in front, and you're sort of leaning backwards on the other foot when you talk to your sets
10) Cocking of eyebrows when you talk to convey emotion.

So yesterday night two of my friends and I wanted to go clubbing.. It's my first time clubbing since about 3 years ago? maybe.. back when I didn't know anything about the community. But we ended up not going into the club as the queue is too long.. Next time though, maybe I should polish chatting up strangers outside the club, as there were quite many pretty girls outside as well, and I notice that everyone are in their own groups of friends.,

Anyway, that's not what my post is mainly about.. so after going to the club which we didn't end up going to., I ended up at one of my friend's place, and then started talking about an interesting sticking point which I think I have.

According to my friend, it's better to just "get" someone for the experience of it, and grow and learn from it. It doesn't really matter that you might feel guilty that you're "using" the person, as if you don't do it.. someone else will, and why not let that person be you..

I thought about that, and I realise that there are many girls that are in my league, which I really didn't put the effort to attract and seduce as I feel it's too much trouble and somehow I feel that if I really do put in the effort, I can "get" her.. but instead spend time day dreaming about getting girls out of my league..

So the question now is.. is it better to just practice on as many girls are possible and try to proceed as far as possible with each girl regardless.. or is it better to only do it when you've got genuine interest be it only physical or emotional or both...

Will check masf or find out what the Modern men think..

So today's another interesting day for me.. first class tonight for learning Chinese and happened to sit next to a HB 8, and a HB 7 who's sitting next to her, HB 8's pretty cute but 5 years older than me.. while HB 7's 4 years younger.. hmm, and I'm right in the middle of the 2 age groups... managed to keep a good vibe going between the two and me though, which I'm quite happy about.. and I teased more of the 7, although I think I'm somehow more attracted to the 8...

So here are snippets or just a summary of my C&F bits that I remembered:

to HB 7
--------
1) teased her that's she's 37 when she mentioned that she's has a 9 year difference in age from HB 8
2) asked her whether she's lost when she's in the ground floor of the building waiting for her friends
3) Joked that she doesn't want me to leave the chinese class for another one

to HB 8
--------
1) teased her that she's married with 3 kids when we were guessing whether we're still studying or working.. I said this after guessing that she's still studying..

So, not much C&F with HB8, but still managed to talk in a light hearted manner which was fun for both HB8 and HB7.

However there's another younger HB8 which seems like the sassy type sitting right in front of me which I didn't have the chance to talk to though, Hmm.. she's the one I'm more interested to know.. will have to make some plans on my next steps..

Will also have to make plans and try my best to befriend the class.. and have social proof everywhere, create jealousy plotlines betwee HB8 and HB7 above.. and possibly a jealousy plotline with the sassy HB8 and the other two HBs.

Preparation for workshop and rock climbing today :)

Right.... time to do a plan on what I have to do to prepare for my upcoming Modern Man workshop this March.. Let's see, what I think I'll have to do is:

1) Preparation of what to wear.
2) Read the masf at www.fastseduction.com as much as possible and take
down points of good openers and storylines to try out.
3) Summarise Mystery method review the points.
4) email Modern Man and ask whether I'll need to any other preparations and to give a bit of my background.
5) think what else I need to prepare and update this blog :P

Well, I'm feeling pretty nervous leading up to the main workshop, and I'm listening to this John Mayer song at the moment.. "Love song for no one" which is really pretty cool, one of the lyrics goes something like: "I could have met you on the sandbox, I could have passed you on the sidewalk, I could have missed my chance and watched you walk away...... "

I really believe that for every guy that sees a girl he finds attractive, and doesn't dare or feels too nervous to approach, it's really letting an opportunity pass by.. unfortunately, guys have this fear of approach built into us.. (according to Mystery) which fits into the caveman theory that if you approach the wrong girl, you can get bashed up by some guy bigger than you..

So.... I really hope that this workshop can help me get rid of that and be the guy I truly want to be :)

On another unrelated note, today's rock climbing was fun!! Saw some cute Japanese girls doing some rock climbing as well, but didn't really know what to say or how to open them.. Will have to think of some openers for next time.. and I really think rock climbing's a great place to take a date too.. if they're into this extreme adventure sports stuff.. also, when you're belaying, your date's safety is in your hands, and maybe that somehow psychologically helps in your favour..?? somehow.. maybe :)

Field report at the pool

More of a post for me to rant and rave about my AFC behavoiur.. not much of a field report,

Felt really disappointed today.. was swimming at a pool and there's this really cute girl swimming in the same lane as I was. There was even some EC when we're on opposites side of the lane.. hmm. and all the time I was having approach anxiety.. :( And when we're both on the same end of the lane, I can feel this uncomfortable tension building up, as if it's really weird that we're both next to each other and yet not talking....

I think she must have someone sensed this though, because she ended up opening ME instead.. what perfect chance.. and yet I couldn't come up with anything C&F to say..

The conversation went something like this:

Her: Can I ask you something? What are these called? (Referring to the paddles that I have)
Me: They're called tech paddles..
Her: Oh do you think it helps?
Me: Blah blah something long drawn out about how it helps..
Her: So that means a yes..
Me: Why? Are you thinking of getting them?
Her: I'm not sure, I've seen people with it.
Me: Would you like to try them on.?
Her: Tries it on and swims for a while with it on..

And basically that was it.. after she returned my stuff to me.. I felt like somehow she could sense that I was a bit of a wuss.. and I just left :(

I am pretty sure I could have handled it better... oh well, try again another time.. :)

Okay, time for a post mortem of how I could have handled this better and some mistakes that I think I made:

1) Too technical in explaining what it is.. should have just said it is a "paddle" rather than "tech paddle"
2) When she asks me: "Can I ask you a question", should have immediately replied with "Depends,..." Or something C&F like "Yes,.... I am single" or "I'll have to check my schedule first... I'll get back to you whether I can go out on a date with you."
3) When I've asked her whether she'd like to try it on and she asks back "can I?" I should have made her jump through one of my hoops first according to the hoop theory and ask something back like "You're not a thief are you?" instead of just saying "yeah"...
4) Try and ask her more about herself and talk to her more about myself and then asking how to continue this conversation.. etc.. and get a time bridge or a bounce :P

Mystery is a genius!

Admittedly, my screen name comes in part influenced by Mystery, which is without a doubt a genius.. I'm still feeling pumped up after a late night watching his DVDs and now in the morning my head is just swimming with information that I can't help it but want to write it all down in this blogspot. Anyway, here's a "cheat sheet" for some of the things that really stuck out for me:

A side note on yesterday's event, somehow I managed to convince this HK girl (it was easier than I thought) to come out shopping with me. All I did was tell her to help me dress cool.

Well anyway, a few important things I realised after this little shopping exercise, firstly changing your entire image in one go is a scary thing.. somehow or rather you'd resist it, but I was fighting that urge all along the way and just played with it.. testing clothes just for the fun of it seeing how differently I look each time..

Another thing would be different girls have different ideas about how their ideal guy would dress like.. if say for example, a girl logically thinks she likes a nice guy so she'd prefer someone who dresses neatly and in a polite manner, she'd tend towards that, rather than helping a guy peacock and get attention from other girls.. she'd rather play it safe? Not sure whether this is true or not.. well need to field test it more.. :)

OK OK OK!! I admit that I'm an AFC..
Now that I've spilled my guts and confessed (sounds suspiciously exactly like what an AFC would do..) the question now is, what am I going to do about it???

I strongly believe that things can change, and it will change for the better.. Anyway, here are my definitions of success:

Be confident enough to be able to approach and start a stimulating conversation with any girls that I just met
Able to project a strong and confident image through my body language.
Confident enough to get physical with girls when the time is right.
Meet and date a lot of girls. ( > 10 )
Be in a position of power and choice.
Not to be intimidated by feminine beauty.
